The top 3 overall finishers (male and female) in the half marathon will receive gift certificates to Skagit Running Company in the amounts of $75 (1st), $50 (2nd) and $25 (3rd).
Awards will also be given to the top three male and female finishers in the following 10-year age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 and over. Awards will not be mailed. You must claim your award on race day or make arrangements with the race director to pick up them up at Skagit Running Company in downtown Mount Vernon.
Awards will be based on gun time, not chip time per USATF rule 245 (3). Chip time is recorded by an electronic chip that is attached to a runner’s shoe. Your chip records the time at which you cross the start line and the finish line. Chip time is often usually faster than gun time because chip time begins when a runner crosses the start line while gun time starts when the gun is fired; many runners don’t cross the start line until several seconds after their official gun time has begun.
